Even before AD called that they were having a moment last year, wood kitchens have inspired designers with their warm and tactile possibilities. After gaining popularity in the 1980s, oak cabinetry has remained a fixture of chic interiors. Part of that is thanks to the material’s versatility because wood kitchen cabinets, for instance, fit into a modern home as easily as they do a rustic farmhouse. And whether a kitchen features sleek mahogany or reclaimed wood, the effect is the same: A cozy and inviting space you never want to leave. Wood’s classic appearance isn’t its only benefit—the durable material will likely last for years to come. Need some inspiration for your renovation mood board? Read on to find our favorite wood kitchens from the AD archives.
