"2001-F," is a mature example from Atsuko Tanaka’s celebrated series of paintings. Depicting a complex web of vibrant circles and lines, Tanaka’s abstract painted forms are reminiscent of cells or cerebral diagrams, reflecting the artist’s interest in the connections between body, spirit and energy. Working on the ground, Tanaka started by freely painting circles and then connecting them with sinuous lines. "2001-F" is included in Marianne Boesky Gallery’s exhibition "Fallout," a group show exploring the essential voices of Jennifer Bartlett, Yayoi Kusama and Atsuko Tanaka in the Post-War era.
