Archivist
Posted December 19, 2022Marianne Boesky Gallery seeks an Archivist at its Chelsea location. This role is full-time Monday through Friday, from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The Archivist will collect, process, and maintain all public-facing gallery images and digital assets.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Oversee photography schedule for exhibitions, incoming works, art fairs and other projects

Coordinate with gallery staff to prepare photography shot lists

Manage photography and videography budget and vendors

Manage advertising budget, calendar and vendors

Collect, process, archive and maintain all media, press, and image assets in database and Dropbox

Facilitate all image licensing requests for press, artist studios, museums, publishers and galleries.

Generate sales materials including image composite mockups, specialized preview documents, and artwork PDFs as requested by Directors

Provide and edit images and assets for website, social media, sales materials, newsletter, and other materials

Create Sketchup models for exhibitions, pop-ups and art fair presentations

Support the development and production of catalogs, books, and other printed materials

Additional support and special projects as needed
Requirements
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supporting role at a gallery, museum, or comparable arts or entertainment organization

Bachelor’s degree, a background in art history, visual arts, or a similar field is preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Organized and detail oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills

Poised and friendly demeanor

Capacity to prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Sketchup, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign required

Experience with After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere preferred

Experience with art databases such as Artlogic preferred
Salary $65,000 to $85,000 plus discretionary bonus
